Controversy comes to mind as a disagreement, a heated argument within a certain, presumably important, theme. It possesses sophistication or the need to eliminate the notion of polarities, to come to peace with the fact that the world is rarely certain and one-dimensional. To question controversies is to question the essence of life, discovering the familiar themes with the blank page as the origin. In relation to architecture. controversies are found in its multiple connections, from aesthetics to sports and politics. It can be in the glorification of Olympic villages or the common disapproval of fascism that makes us think: there is no way it could be seen differently. However, as proved throughout the edition, there is always another side – even in seemingly straightforward themes – that ensures the existence of its followers, and for us – the existence of controversial architecture.
